Better than smoke signals.

Has anyone noticed that Bev and I are pictured on Brunelle Nation as a question mark? Probably not, so what else is new after a combined 161 years? (That's a combined 112 years of marital bliss!) So …

Has anyone noticed that Bev and I are pictured on Brunelle Nation as a question mark? Probably not, so what else is new after a combined 161 years? (That's a combined 112 years of marital bliss!) So whether or not you know, or know of us, we are here and kicking with a few things to add, now and then. What brings this on is a follow up on our re-done deck and the dedication thereof. As some of you may recall, our get together on Aug. 8, included multiple celebratory items including Krista's graduation from BSU and Jone"s graduation from JMU (us Brunelle's are big on college degrees and coffee cups from these hallowed halls). Also, Bryans bar exam and his receiving a copy of Mike's latest edition of his "Bar Book" (over 12,000 copies have been sold, we think). An additional item on the program was to celebrate (or commemorate) the anniversary of the birth of Louis Pierre Gervais in 1810.
As Louis Pierre was not born until August 31 in far off Canada the anniversary of his birthday, lets be kind and say, of somewhat limited interest. But, what is important, from a genealogical standpoint, is that we bridged eight generations of the Hurlbutt-Grendle, Grendle-Lafrenz, Lafrenz-Brunelle, Brunelle-Haney, Brunelle-Gervais, Gervais- Beaudreau, Gervais-Trombley, families with our la-petit Hendrix Hurlbutt, the great-great-great-great-great-grand-daughter of Louis Pierre Gervais in attendence.
The next celebration will be the 100th anniversary of Gwen Sathre Wright's birth on Dec. 16, 2010, but not on the deck. Did somebody say Macaroni-Grill?

Here are a couple of views of the deck taken shortly before it was dedicated (we forgot to smash a champagne bottle on it). It was still in progress, just a few bricks left to be fitted in place.

By the way, I was able to hit a "reset" button for your photo, but it posted the generic Brunelle Nation member photo, which is an outline of a photo of Alvan Brunelle.
