As Kempthorne was in office only 2.5 years he really did not accomplish all that much, or put another way, do all that much more damage then was already being done. He did a lot of traveling, and he's a guy who is into pomp and ceremony, so he had his fair share of that. One of his last acts was redesignating the BLM lands as the National System of Public Lands. It did not change any authorities and was largely a symbolic gesture.
