It is now mid-July and it appears very favorable that the Brunelle deck will be in service in "the very near future". After a quarter of a century the "old deck". with an untreated wooden base was done in by several hundred Monday morning irrigations. The collapsed structure has been replaced by concrete products through the efforts of principal contractor Brock Hyder and his talented crew of his brother Butch, buddy Brandon, and special expeditor Cassie Brunelle. And so, good friends, the celebration for the 200th anniversary of Louis Pierre Gervais's birth will be held on Aug. 31, 2010. We will, of course, have several practice sessions on the deck prior to 8/31. With the Basque nation celebrations scheduled for Boise in late July and the arrival of Mike, Bea, Jone and Michael on July 24, we will have many "deck sessions". As L. P. Gervais was one of the famous "founders of Minnesota" extend an invitation to any of your Minnesota friends to help celebrate. You betcha.
