Calvin Wright was well-known as a gentleman and an honest politician. Unfortunately, it is generally felt that most politicians are neither honest nor gentlemen. That may be painting the group with a rather wide brush, but lately it has been painfully obvious that many elected officials bring shame on themselves and embarrassment to their constituents. Here is my choice (from among several) for Most Embarrassing Politician from Virginia, George "Macaca" Allen.

Who is the most embarrassing politician from your state?

My husband, Bob Rosholt, was an honest banker (CFO, CIO, CSO), and that position(s) is also being dragged through the mud. Thank God he retired when he did...need I mention the most embarrassing politician from my state of Illinois, who happended to be in NYC on the David Letterman show the last time I was visiting that second great city (sorry, Jeff)! Thank God (again) that President Obama is from my great State of Illinois. Soon, I will post my unbelievable and unexpected encounter with the current President when I was in NYC, a three years ago. When you look at his left shoulder, know that I actually tapped it from behind to get throught the entryway of a restaurant at the Time-Warner Building, without knowing that it was my Senator and future President! When he turned and revealed his face, I was stunned and told him that I was from Chicago and I when I asked him what he was doing in NYC and he replyed "I am going to order dinner and eat, just like you!" He was very cordial and gracious and agreed, without hesitation, when I asked him if he would escort me to my table to meet my husband and 12 friends from around the country. As he left our group, he turned and said to me " I'll see you around Chicago, Sharon" like we were old friends! Needless to say, I voted for him! My friends from Texas and North Carolina, who met him that evening, can not recall that it was Obama who they met that special night...Well, I guess I just told the story!
